Lack of sexual desire, anafrodisia
What is anafrodisia or inhibited sexual desire?
It is a persistent or diffuse inhibition of sexual desire or libido having a lock on the sexual appetite, which leads to a considerable reduction in the frequency of intercourse, becoming these sometimes almost nil. There is disaffection with the possibility of having any sexual contact, sexual desire is low or inexsitente and often is absent sexual fantasies or erotic content. Its causes can be both physical and psychological.
One of the physical causes in men may be a low level of testosterone (testosterone is the hormone that creates sexual desire). Treatment in this case, is a medication of hormonal supplementation for a while to retrieve the appropriate levels. In the event that physical causes are ruled out, sex therapy with a specialist can reveal possible causes and to plan its treatment.
